Visits, wishlist items, your name, poster drafts and your local atlas are stored in the current browser or app device. Clearing data, changing devices or uninstalling may remove them.

Your atlas stays on your device first.
Heritage Folio is a local-first cultural and travel journal. No account is required and cloud sync is not provided at this stage.
Photos and EXIF
Photo reading, EXIF, GPS matching, cropping and poster rendering happen on this device by default. Originals are not uploaded because you use the scanner.
Location
Location is used only when you request nearby heritage, Around Me or photo matching. It is used to calculate distance, not to build an account profile.
External services
Maps, UNESCO records, Wikimedia Commons and external links follow their own policies and may receive normal network requests. OpenStreetMap attribution is preserved.
Clear data
Use About/Settings to clear local visits, wishlist, name and poster library. Cleared data cannot be restored by Heritage Folio.
